Associate, Investment Banking Technology

GROUP DESCRIPTION: Jefferies Technology Group, one of the largest and fastest-growing investment banking franchises on Wall Street, provides a full range of investment banking services to large and mid-sized public and private companies. The team combines deep industry knowledge and M&A expertise with Jefferies' outstanding debt and equity financing, restructuring, trading and research capabilities to advise on a full range of corporate transactions across the technology sector, including subsectors such as Enterprise Software, Communication Technologies, Internet, Semiconductors & Electronics, Technology Services, Financial Technology & Payments and the Internet of Things. Jefferies Technology Group has senior bankers located in the US (East and West Coast), Europe and Asia and is capitalizing on momentum from recent years by hiring additional senior-level and junior-level professionals.

POSITION: Jefferies Technology Group is actively looking for an experienced Associate for our New York office. Senior analysts that are committed to an investment banking career will also be considered.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: As an Associate in Jefferies Technology Group, you will rapidly assume significant responsibilities including preparing and delivering client presentations; valuing companies using a variety of methodologies and leveraging skills in accounting, finance and economics; drafting deal documents such as presentations, CIMs and prospectuses; developing and maintaining financial models; analyzing business plans and performing company, industry, market and competitor research and due diligence; participating in drafting sessions; preparing and managing the delivery of internal deal memos; collecting and analyzing economic data on the sector, clients and their customers; and following and analyzing industry trends. Additional responsibilities include monitoring financial market trends and the markets' impact on the technology sector. These responsibilities afford direct and active interaction with clients (CEOs, CFOs, etc.) where Associates are expected to attend and participate in client meetings and contribute to building and maintaining client relationships. You will work on several projects simultaneously with teams of professionals, both within the group and across the firm, including Managing Directors, Vice Presidents and Analysts, collaborating to develop and execute solutions to meet client needs.

Minimum Requirements:

* Experience as an investment banking associate or senior analyst, or 3+ years of consulting, accounting or relevant technology industry experience

* A critical thinker who can quickly evaluate and analyze companies and financial information

* Position may be located in either New York, San Francisco, or Charlotte

Desired Experience/Skills:

* Outstanding analytical/financial skills as well as strong written and verbal communication skills

* Ability to manage a variety of transactions and projects simultaneously

* Resourceful self-starter, able to work autonomously and as a team player

* Very strong excel and data management skills

* A passion for the technology industry
