Position Description:
AIG Property Casualty Company has an opportunity for a Financial Analysis Manager in New York.
Responsibilities of Commercial Expense Management - Financial Analysis Manager include:

• Planning, coordination, and delivery of all GOE expense reporting and analytic requirements;
• Support the businesses in their tracking and analysis of General Operating Expenses (Direct Expenses vs. Gross Operating Expenses);
• Ensure direct controllable aligns with Commercial Insurance functional expense reporting;
• Liaise directly with Comptrollers / Business Partners and Stakeholders to allow for clear and concise decision making efforts;
• Meet all AIG PC Expense Analysis deliverables for ensuring the underwriting expense story is folded into all PC level analysis / reports;
• Ability to engage and partner at all levels of management in key-decision making opportunities and articulating key drivers along with teasing out the storyline impacting Commercial growth and profitability;
• Global Expense team representative to specific region FP&A counterparties to assist / coordinate resolution of region expense issues with Global FP&A and Comptrollers; review regional decks and materials for completeness / accuracy / utility;
• Manage working plans for developing/changing database requirements, and coordinate activities with IT, Operations and Systems on database activities crucial for supporting the data gathering needs of the Business Analytics team;
• Ad hoc analysis and projects from senior management.

Position Requirements:
• Minimum of five years of experience working in financial services industry, preferably with experience at property/casualty insurance companies, rating agencies, accounting firms, or related consulting firms;
• Prior experience in working with large data sets and the ability to synthesize data accordingly based on demand management;
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting is required, MBA or CPA is preferred;
• Highly proficient in MS Excel and Powerpoint applications. Prior use of MS Access a plus;
• Solid understanding of GAAP and statutory accounting rules;
• Prior knowledge of Essbase and SAP financial reporting systems a plus;
• Excellent written, oral communication, and presentation skills.
