Edelman is seeking a Senior Account Executive (SAE) to join the Crisis & Reputation Risk team in New York. We provide senior leadership and boards with strategic reputation risk management counsel to protect and enable the organization's reputation. The support ranges from assessments of a client's vulnerabilities and capability to immersive crisis training and rapid-response crisis management. We help companies identify threats to reputation and the bottom line, minimize risk, manage issues and maximize crisis preparedness.

While there's no \"typical\" day in this role, we are looking for a team member who is a strong problem solver and calm under pressure. Additionally, this role requires someone who is invigorated by challenges, complex subject matter, and thinking critically through the lens of risk mitigation.

The ideal candidate will have issues and/or crisis management experience. This individual must also be willing to grow as an account leader who can play an active role in strategically driving crisis and reputation risk account work.


* Help clients enhance their strategic reputation risk management for business and global risks

* Participate in designing and implementing communications solutions to solve client reputation risks

* Support developing materials including crisis plans, counseling memos, scenario plannings and creating content for crisis simulations

* Conduct relevant research, data analysis, and create reports

* Support day-to-day account management for crisis and reputation risk clients

* Oversee operational performance of accounts, ensuring quality work, deadline and budget adherence

* Play major role in creation of communications plans and goals; manage against them

* Serve as daily client contact and act as client lead when appropriate; address client issues thoughtfully and effectively

* Consistently produce high quality internal and external communications content

* Build relationships with internal business partners to meet client needs

* Demonstrate tactical proficiency in media relations, including creating and driving both traditional and social media outreach plans


* Bachelor's degree required

* Strong understanding of and demonstrated experience in strategic communications or public relations, with 2 years of relevant full-time experience

* Must have interest in public relations, particularly crisis and risk reputation

* Positive, collaborative attitude

* Strong organizational, scheduling, and time/project management skills; possess the ability to multiple deadlines simultaneously

* Superior verbal communication skills

* Must demonstrate excellent writing abilities
