Position Description:

We are seeking a Senior Audit Manager to join our Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Audit Group which is located in New York City. The position reports to an Audit Director and we are targeting an experienced audit professional with strong competencies, both technical and interpersonal. The successful candidate will benefit from working in a large and diverse financial services firm and within a team-oriented environment. You will be able to have a unique view of AIG, as part of planning and executing on all aspects of the audit process and risk assessment activities and will build close working relationships with business and functional leaders, colleagues across other assurance functions, and within Internal Audit.

Specific responsibilities will include:

• Plan and lead all aspects of audit activities in accordance with the Internal Audit Group’s Global Audit Methodology, from audit planning, control design assessment & evaluation, testing, report drafting, workpaper documentation, and follow-up and verification of issues closure
• Supervise, train and coach other team members, including reviewing audit workpapers and provide honest and constructive feedback for continuous improvement
• Manage multiple audits/projects, involvement within a team environment
• Provide assurance on risk management processes, evaluation of risks and risk management
• Effectively deliver difficult messages to clients, including drafting reports that clearly captures key messages for management action
• Draft reports and effectively edit findings/narratives of others to ensure client understanding, and captures the key messages in executive summaries
• Partner with colleagues and internal clients to evaluate, test, and report on the adequacy and effectiveness of management controls
• Validate regulatory issues (MRAs/MRIAs) and communicate with regulators
• Global coordination of audit work

Position Requirements:
• 10+ years of Internal Audit or Public Accounting experience, preferably in financial services area
• Strong knowledge and audit or risk experience, within the insurance industry or financial services, in one or a combination of the following:
o Risk management operating framework best practices, including credit, ALM, liquidity, market, model and operational risk principles
o Audit, Risk Management or equivalent knowledge/experience of the Stress Testing
o Financial services background and knowledge, with good understanding of financial markets and products
• Relevant audit or industry certification is preferred (e.g., FRM, CRM, CIA)
• Prior supervisory/management experience and leading teams
• Strong presentation and written skills with the ability to effectively deliver messages to clients
• Ability to manage multiple audits and projects concurrently and participate in audit assignments within a team environment and consistently meet deadlines
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree
• Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access)
