Company Description Professional Services Firm Job Description The Government Senior Audit Manager will:Oversee the efforts of multiple client engagements in the Government industries with the ability to manage within budget timeApply technical skills, take the initiative to identify best practices and improvements, and consider applicability of best practices for other clientsResearch complex accounting topics and form a conclusion utilizing the Firm's research toolsMaintain active communication with clients to manage expectations, ensure satisfaction, and lead change effortsIdentify and communicate to management suggestions to improve client internal controls and accounting proceduresPrepare financial report (statements, footnotes and any supplemental information) and all other client deliverablesAdhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict client confidentialityApply industry trends to analytics, formulate expectations and determine reasonablenessManage engagement staff to meet deliverable deadlines; identify roadblocks, and understand critical milestones to meet client service expectationsProvide quality on the job training and constructive feedback to Interns and Staff Required SkillsBachelor's or advanced degree in AccountingActive CPA license5+ years of prior experience in public accounting specifically performing external audits on government entities, municipalities, utilities, school districts etc.Significant experience in the industry or technical expertise in financial reporting and GAAPExcellent analytical, technical, and auditing skills including proficiency in US GAAP, GAAS, and GASB rules and standardsExcellent interpersonal skills and strong work ethicAbility to research complex accounting and auditing issuesExcellent communication and computer skillsAbility to work additional hours as needed and travel to various client sites
