Content Editor

ARTSPEAK NYC seeks an exceptional Content Editor to join our team in New York. You will play an integral role on our editorial team as we aim to make art more accessible through exciting, engaging, and educational content around artists and artworks on the site. In this role, you will be a key player in managing and creating content around our gallery partners' shows, artists, and programming. In addition, you will collaborate with team members to brainstorm, plan, and produce articles and features with fresh angles, tied to important art world events and exhibitions. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, a meticulous editor, eager to join a fast-paced, close-knit team, and passionate about contemporary art and design.

Other requirements:

You have excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills
You are extremely creative and enjoy pitching and brainstorming story ideas
You are comfortable with taking ownership of content from conceptualizing and assigning stages to publishing
You have experience working with freelance writers and you have a network of freelance writers to tap into
You are well-versed in art history and contemporary art, and are familiar with art galleries across the world
You are humble and identify yourself as a team player

Social Media Intern

ARTSPEAK NYC is looking for an individual passionate about all things art and all things social media to learn the ropes of our social media program.

The Social Media Intern would work across the Editorial and Communications Teams to conceptualize, strategize, and execute campaigns, and provide day-to-day support for our eight social media channels: Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. You will be responsible for identifying emerging channels and evaluating our current use of channels, as well as staying abreast of best practices across all social media platforms.

The ideal candidate is someone who has experience managing social media channels—either at school, at a previous internship, and/or personally—and working in Hootsuite or equivalent platform. You are a major (or have completed extensive coursework) in art history, with particular interest in and knowledge of contemporary art; an excellent communicator and talented writer who can craft engaging tweets and teasers; detail-oriented and impeccably organized; and comfortable with analytics, or eager to learn the ins and outs of analytics.
