This is a genuine Antique maritime horn, its not homeade, its the only one like it in the world, ive researched it for over a year and asked many collectors about the horn with just to find out they have never seen one like it but do agree its a fog horn or signal horn
There are 4 holes in bottom bracket for mounting, and i assume someone would have to be sitting down to depress the foot pedal, it has a wooden mechanism, 3 leather bellows, has some small hoses missing from top, the foot pedal has a canvas bellows, the horn bell is aluminum, screw indicates 1840s era because off center screw slot, there are no sides and there never were any sides, theres no nail holes or screw holes indicating any side panels ever existed
