An internship with Information Technology Services (ITS) will kick start your career journey. Work you’ll do You will be responsible for performing duties at the Technology Support Services walk-up desk including: • Work with the team to grow in subject matter expertise with regard to computer problems related to Windows 7/8, Windows applications, Microsoft Office products including MS Outlook, Office Communicator, McAfee Antivirus and Mac OS X • Perform laptop and printer hardware troubleshooting and repair • Implementation of system and software upgrades, as well as performance monitoring and tuning • Perform regular help desk shifts acting as second level technical resource • Tracking & documenting support activities, using CAs Service Desk Management system • Communicate and document troubleshooting techniques and "best practices" to the team • Work as a team member performing installation and maintenance of technology at client engagement sites • Virus and OS patch updates • Participate in special projects as assigned • Support the delivery of ITS projects focusing on personal computing, mobile devices, IT infrastructure, both in the Deloitte office and at remote firm engagement sites, as appropriate • Make technical recommendations and provide solutions to Deloitte business professionals • Understand, analyze and research technical problems • Develop your technical skills and knowledge of our clients' business • Build relationships with team members and customers of all levels The team As an Information Technology Services intern, you’ll have the opportunity to work in one of four ITS Service Lines: Deloitte Applications Studios (DAS), Technology and Infrastructure (T&I), CyberSecurity, or Technology Management Operations (TMO). Here you’ll get the chance to work with an experienced team on projects that will build on your technical and business skills and help our clients achieve a higher level of service in operational efficiency and business value. Depending on your role, you’ll will have the opportunity to engage in cyber risk detection and prevention, web/mobile application design and development, web hosting, database administration and management, and overall business operations. Qualifications Required: • Candidate for a Bachelor degree in any technical field (sophomore or junior standing) • Ability to effectively communicate written and verbal to all levels within the organizations • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask under pressure and project deadline • Strong problem solving skills with proven ability to influence and negotiate outside of a reporting relationship • Identify, analyze, and drive problems to resolution, handling complex issues simultaneously while effectively communicating across teams • Ability to use customer-service oriented techniques to determine and resolve problems, and respond competently with the appropriate sense of urgency to customer requests. • Self-motivation and the ability to work with minimum supervision. • Strong commitment to professional and service excellence. • Initiative to expand level of responsibility. • Work both independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levels. • Quick learner, proactive individual with the ability to work in a dynamic, fast changing environment. • Ability to anticipate the long term impact of decisions and take a broad approach to problem solving. • High quality and professional standards.
