Position Description:

American International Group, Inc.’s (“AIG”) Global Legal, Compliance and Regulatory Department is currently seeking a Legal Analyst. This position will be joining the AIG IT Legal Department based in New York City, but the position could reside in Livingston, NJ; Charlotte, NC or Houston, TX depending on the candidate. This individual filling this position will report directly into the Deputy General Counsel of the AIG IT Legal Department.

This position will have responsibility for coordinating and liaising with clients and stakeholders, such as Technology Services, IT Security, Global Services & Procurement Services, and other business and legal teams within AIG globally; preparing various reports related to the IT Legal Department; and organizing and maintaining legal documents in various databases, including the contracts management database and SharePoint. In addition, this position will also provide support, under the supervision of an attorney, with respect to a wide variety of legal projects, including contract review.

Specific responsibilities include:

• Independently managing key operational activities, including preparation of documents for key meetings, agenda development, managing and providing timely updates on critical projects or issues.

• Developing and preparing reports and making presentations on behalf of the IT Legal Department, which will include researching, compiling, analyzing and summarizing data from across all levels of the organization for such presentations and/or reports. Advising management regarding such reports, as appropriate.

• Assisting attorneys in the preparation and review of certain IT transaction documents with third parties, based upon ability (with oversight by attorneys), including non-disclosure agreements, statements of work, telecom orders, and similar agreements; assisting in preparation and review of US and non-US inter-company services agreements; and assisting in the formation or dissolution of US and non-US entities, including preparation of entity organizational documents.

• Creating and updating IT Legal Department process relating to implementation of legal automation tools, solutions and enhancements for legal data base analysis, contract signature, storage and retrieval (e.g., DocuSign, Ariba, Sharepoint) and training, as necessary, IT Legal Department colleagues on such tools and solutions.

• Providing administrative support for a broad range of legal matters, including corporate governance matters, assisting with corporate database management, and maintaining files on the IT Legal Department's share drive in order to provide for a more efficient, search-able repository.

• Maintaining IT Legal Department's template agreements, including updating same as necessary.

• Special projects as requested.

The person filling this position is expected to independently and thoroughly handle the above matters with only broad attorney oversight (after appropriate training), including independent issue spotting, problem solving, and thinking “out-of-the-box”, as well as be able to work well as part of a team.

Position Requirements:

• B. A. degree is required.
• 5+ years of experience in corporate law department or law firm.
• Excellent project management, verbal, written and presentation skills are essential. Must be attentive to detail and able to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple complex projects to ensure quality and on-time delivery.
• Proficient in the use of MS Office: Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint; knowledge of DocuSign; Ariba and Sharepoint a plus.
• Ability to see the big picture and conceptualize ideas/solutions.
• Ability to think strategically, anticipate future consequences and trends, and incorporates them in presentations and reports.
• Strong collaboration skills; must be able to work with teams/people across all levels of the organization to achieve the desired results.
• Strong communication skills required; must be able to effectively communicate with senior leadership, peers, and staff across culturally diverse teams.
• Strong business and financial acumen to present issues clearly and concisely.
• Strong reasoning skills and the ability to synthesize complex information into compelling change narratives.
• Comfortable in building relationships, internally and externally, voicing one's opinion and representing the viewpoints of others in a productive manner.
• Ability to deal well with ambiguity, conflict and difficult situations.
• Handle confidential and sensitive information with tact and discretion.
