Technical Support Engineer (Top Hedge Fund)Our client in Midtown Manhattan is looking for Technical Support Engineers to fill a full-time position. Base salary can go up $85K depending on current compensation and experience and work visas cannot be transferred at the moment. Candidates must have previous Desktop Support experience within Finance and expertise in Unix/Linux, FIX Protocol and ability to work in a Java environment.ResponsibilitiesProvide first and second line support for all incoming customer queriesActively work in UNIX and Windows operating systems; utilize standard UNIX utilities to retrieve and review FIX protocol and XML logs and identify and troubleshoot problems associated with client ordersManage and monitor technical integrations, involving pre- and post-trade solutions; primary focus on integration solutions via FIX protocols, FTP and SFTP uploads for proprietary and third party execution platformsRequirementsProvided various levels of Help Desk support over the phone and on location for issues regarding operating system configuration, troubleshooting of TCP/IP applications such as email and web browsing, and ISP connectivity problemsInstallation of computer networks, router, switches, wireless networking.
