We are seeking a **Cognitive Legal Associate Partner** in the Financial Services practice who is an advisor and management consultant who can speak about the entire legal landscape with a client s executive team including, but, not limited to, the Chief Legal Officer. The Associate Partner should have depth of knowledge and experience with law firms and corporate counsel as well as experience with technology and the law. The Associate Partner will lead the creation of new business opportunities across the United States and will be accountable for success through to the end of client engagements. S/he must have extensive sales experience to law firms and corporate legal departments, a track-record of effective leadership and must be recognized as an expert within this industry.
The Associate Partner will be accountable for the financial success and client satisfaction of engagements under his/her direction. S/he will define criteria for the scope, risk and profitability of engagements, as well as the viability of new business opportunities. This individual will identify, qualify, assist, and manage the closing of new business. S/he will develop lasting relationships based on mutual respect with clients decision makers. The Associate Partner will significantly influence client satisfaction through h/her knowledge of the law. In addition, the Associate Partner will possess an ability to articulate solution value and leadership of services delivery.
The Associate Partner will lead and be held accountable for the attainment of business objectives in the practice. S/he will also support the health and development of the practice through people management, eminence, regular communication and mentoring or coaching activities. S/he must develop strong and trusted relationships with other areas of IBM and with team members to achieve quick responses to client demands.
The successful consultant will be client-facing but also be an internal advisor to other IBM consultants.

**Required Technical and Professional Expertise**
+ At least 10 years of experience in selling and delivering to law firms and corporate legal counsel
+ At least 7 years experience leading large group as the primary facilitator.
+ Established C-Level (CIO, COO, CMO, CFO, business line leaders) relationships is required.
+ Must have strong legal writing skills
+ Comfortable working in a project based/client serving model
+ Ability to shape client expectations and identify opportunities.
+ Drive client pursuits and engage in complex deals
+ Ability to work with global and diverse teams in a dynamic environment
+ Ability to work in a matrix management model
**Preferred Tech and Prof Experience**
- Deep subject matter expert in the law
- Extensive track record of sales and delivery of consulting engagements to law firms or corporate legal departments
- An understanding of contemporary and legacy legal technology issues
