PLEASE NOTE: This is not a full time opportunity. The availability of work varies from month:to:month and is on an as:needed basis. This contingent position is paid by a third party payrolling vendor while the Associate is providing services for HMH to HMH clients.
We are currently seeking individuals with expertise in the area of instructional technology, technology services in an educational environment for grades PreK:12 for the 5 Boroughs of NYC.
Overall Responsibility:
The Technical Services Specialist demonstrates an understanding of instructional technology and is avalue to our clients (administrators, principals, teachers) including implementation of HMH solutions, integration of HMH technology into the customer environment, and the role of HMH technology in the broader edTech environment. Technical Services will deliver broad:based technology:related services to K:12 and ensure that these services meet our customers' needs. The Technical Services Specialistwill work with the sales team to ensure administrators/principals/teachers understand the rostering process, work as a liaison to tech support, demo Google Expeditions, model HMH's technology platforms.
Primary Accountabilities:
Solution Development and Implementation:
:Understands customer requirements and develops a plan to achieve success.
:Demonstrates basic knowledge of HMH technical solutions with specific focus on implementation, rostering, and troubleshooting
:Facilitates customer technical implementations by creating an instructional technology roadmaps
:Participates in all phases of the services lifecycle, including requirements definition, business and process analysis, systems integration, and environmental analysis and application.
:Able to work with data in a variety of formats to meet customer rostering, SSO, and data retention needs.
:Familiarity with wired and wireless network environment design and deployment models including network routing, bandwidth constrictions, content filters, firewalls, and proxies. Familiar with multiple end:user devices, including configuration best practices, for Mac, PC, Linux, iOS, Android, and Chrome OS devices.
:Proficient in the use of remote access software, while meeting the security needs of the customer.
:Able to work independently or collaboratively within a team on moderately complex projects/assignments.
:Able to understand customer and business technology requirements, and apply solutions to meet project and customer needs.
:Desire to acquire and further develop new skills as technology evolves.
:Strong communication skills.
:Organized and able to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
:Able to work productively under tight deadlines, dynamic priorities, and flexible schedules.
:Proficient in the use of office productivity applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint.
:Able to understand, use and apply other software applications as needed.
:Bachelors degree or Associates degree with equivalent work experience
:2+ years experience with technical system implementations or integration of packaged application software
:Experience delivering technology solutions in an educational setting
:Computer skills necessary in Windows 2000, Microsoft Word, Power Point, and Microsoft Outlook
:Excellent written and oral communication skills
:Ability to speak and present effectively in public
:Ability to establish rapport and convey a positive and professional image to teachers and administrators
:Great customer service and interpersonal skills
