The Associate Manager of Collections Education is the primary youth education liaison to the Exhibitions and SASB research divisions, whose main responsibility is to build field trip modules and supplementary digital materials for the Treasures and other SASB exhibitions, partner with teachers on classes/projects using primary resources in the research libraries, as well as coordinate the execution of field trips. Eventually, s/he will work to disseminate these resources to neighborhood library sites and schools via physical and digital means. In addition, s/he will coordinate the creation of collections:based educational web content for K:12 students and teachers. In particular, s/he will coordinate the creation of learning resources based on our digital collections, and the tagging or other curation of the digital collections themselves for ease of discovery by educators.Works with the Department of Education and individual schools to assess the curricular needs of P:12 audiences to help determine the most engaging and educational programming and activities for larger:scale visits to SASBA?s Treasures and other exhibits and research collectionsWorks with individual teachers to create classes/projects, including a Teen Thursdays partnership with the Department of Education, focused on primary resources located in the research librariesSupports the Exhibitions and research collections staff in curating and presenting collections to engage youth, educator and school audiencesDevelops and manages in:depth service provision, including in:person and/or blended learning professional development, to educators and schools based on specific collections and lines of inquirySupports the acquisition and practice of digital and informational literacy skills for K:12 educators and students via professional development and field trip opportunitiesCollects and analyzes program data, specifically program attendance and K:12 program delivery, within the Schwarzman buildingDrafts program descriptions and otherwise lends assistance to programmatic fundraising efforts with DevelopmentWorks with Communications and Marketing staff to promote the scope of K:12 collections and exhibits:based programs at the Schwarzman buildingOther related duties as required.Works with other members of the Treasures team to conceptualize program vision, goals, and objectivesWorks with Exhibitions team, Digital team, collections curators/archivists/cataloguers/librarians, and outside design firms to: design physical and digital interactives, activities, and other programming to support middle and high school field trips, as well as visiting families with older childrenWorks with Exhibitions team, Digital team, NYPL collections curators/archivists/catalogues/librarians, and outside design firms to: build out digital/e:content presence for the Treasures exhibit and visits to other exhibits and research collections that will resonate with youth audiences, educators and familiesSupervises other field trip educators (number TBD) and maintains quality control of program deliveryAccountability and Professionalism : Demonstrates enthusiasm for and commitment to the position and accepts responsibility for personal actionsCustomer Service : Commits to meeting the expectations of internal and external customers.
