The NYPL has built a large:scale Out:of:School Time presence throughout its three boroughs, where we serve tens of thousands of children and youth every day. We have designed a number of different OST models that meet the needs of our communities and capture the spirit of informal education. We are building a team of talented, committed and enthusiastic educators who recognize the NYPLA?s role in enriching the lives of the young people we serve.The NYPL already serves as an after:school haven for young people and is a natural place in which they can begin homework assignments. To meet this need, NYPL launched a series of A?Enrichment Zones,A? that feature experienced educators and trained tutors who deliver highly customized homework help to children grades 1 : 8.Reporting to the Associate Manager, Out of School Time (OST): Establishes a high:quality Enrichment Zones customized homework help program, under the guidance of the OST Associate Manager, that follows all protocols and procedures created by the OST department Manages part:time tutors in their daily work with studentsResponsible for the daily management and logistics of running the programReviews student progress through diagnostic tools and prepares, engaging, customized plans for participantsParticipates in ongoing professional development in tutor management, academic content, pedagogy, behavior management, and safety protocols provided by the NYPL and implements these practices in the afterschool programBuilds a strong relationship with parents, schools, and library branch staffPerforms other related duties as required.Supervises Enrichment Zones TutorsBachelorA?s degree; MasterA?s degree in Education or related field preferredMinimum of three yearsA? experience teaching K : 12 in a formal and/or informal settingExperience or interest in project:based learning and informal education (our models are very different from traditional classroom teaching).Ability to work collaboratively with a team of educators.Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, including the ability to serve as an enthusiastic ambassador for the Library.Entrepreneurial spirit: ability to shift gears in a fast:paced environment.Ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines and wear many different mitment to continued professional development.Excellent organizational mitment to diversity and inclusion.Supervisory and/or staff development experience BranchUSD 30.00/Hr.15:19 hours per weekMonday:FridayEvenings and weekends as requiredSchedule subject to change**Program hours are 3pm:6pm**Non Union
