The HR Service Center supports the Total RewardsA? mission in making the Library the best place to work. The HRSC provides administrative and first line support in various initiatives to provide a one stop and shop service for internal and external customers. The role of the HR Service Center Specialist is to provide operational, technical and customer service for the Human Resources Department. The HR Service Center Specialist will ensure processes and transactions are processed in an efficient, accurate and timely manner. The Specialist will also support staff members on a variety of Human Resources programs and provide counsel and advice to staff as appropriate.Under the direction of the Manager of HR Operations, the HR Service Center Specialist:Consults with other areas within the library on issue resolution as needed and answers policy questions, partnering with Centers of Expertise and HR Business Partners as necessaryLogs and updates inquiries, issue resolution, and status into workflow tracking systemInputs data in the various HR systems ensuring accuracy and data integrity (ie pension membership, benefits enrollment, personal data changes, etc.)Initiates background verifications with the vendor; acts as a liaison between vendor and HR Business Partners on status, adverse action, and employment eligibilityManages the LibraryA?s tuition assistance program and supports employees through the application and payment processesMaintains and audits staff member files in accordance with record retention and internal audit policyAssists in the continuous development and improvement of processes, continually looking for opportunities to streamline and improve internal proceduresMeets all service level agreements such as first call resolution, average answer speed, call quality and providing regular updates to HR Business PartnersPerforms related duties as requiredAccountability and ProfessionalismCustomer ServiceCollaboration and TeamworkJob:Specific Knowledge and Skills1:2 years of related experience and High School diploma required; or an equivalent combination of education and experienceExcellent customer service and the ability to deal effectively and courteously with employees and the general publicStrong ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, including the ability to explain complex processes to employees at all levelsDemonstrated organizational skills and the ability to complete work with a strong attention to detailExperience performing data entry and processing high volumes of information and the ability to work on multiple projects concurrentlyStrong analytical skills and the ability to effectively utilize resources to resolve issuesDemonstrated ability to use discretion and judgement and maintain a high level of confidentialityStrong technology and computer skills, including Google applications and intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applicationsBachelors in Human Resources or related fieldHuman Resources experience strongly preferredBenefits and leave administration experience preferredFamiliarity with HRIS systems preferred (Workday, Applicant Tracking, Learning Management and Performance Management)Office setting Monday : Friday9:00 a.m. : 5:00 p.m.Non Union
