Job Description


Position: Award winning New York City based Engineering firm specializing in exterior building repair and structural restoration seeks full time Engineer-In-Training with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Structural Engineering, Façade Restoration, Building Envelope Repair, and FISP inspections (formally known as Local Law 11/98. Firm employs both engineers and architects knowledgeable in building envelope construction. An ideal candidate communicates well, has a strong work ethic and is self-motivated.

Qualifications
· Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required
· New York State Professional Engineer License a plus
· Prior experience preparing construction documents for the structural repair of buildings including concrete repair, vault replacement and other structural defects and/or replacement of building facades, roofs, and windows including buildings in landmark districts
· Ability to perform scaffold inspections from swing staging, pipe scaffolding and lifts required.
· Knowledge of New York City Façade Inspection and Safety Program required including performing inspections, and preparing reports.
· Experience in Adjacent Construction issues a plus.
· Experience in assembling project specifications utilizing MasterSpec, and experience assembling written project scopes and bid forms.
· Experience in wide range of building uses including multi-family residential, commercial, and intuitional buildings. Experience with healthcare facilities a plus.
· Experience in using AutoCAD, RAM, MSWord, and MSExcel required. Knowledge of Revit programs a plus.
· Familiarity with AIA construction forms for change orders and payment requisitions

Responsibilities
· Work closely with Principal, Senior Associate and clients
· Develop project scopes, assemble construction documents including drawings, specifications and bid forms
· Perform site visits for Structural Stability and Masonry Special Inspections under the supervision of the Principal
· Perform regular site visits during construction, review and comment on submittals, change order requests, and review and approve payment applications.
· Is able to communicate with Clients, and Contractors.
· Willing to oversee and work with team members in all aspects of project
· Understand the importance of following-up with new and potential Clients, and Contractors.
