The Architect’s Newspaper is a small award winning B-to-B media company serving the architectural industry. We publish a monthly newspaper both printed and digital. We also produce national conferences and special events. Our loft style offices are located in Tribeca with a small staff that has a lot of creative talent in editorial, marketing and events.

We are looking for an experienced Operations Manger | Assistant to the President to lead and oversee the activities of our twenty-person team as well as maintain all aspects of office operations.

The Operations Manger | Assistant to the President will be the President’s ‘Right arm,” and assist in all aspects of business development. He/she will support the President by driving productivity and efficiency with administrative organization and management.

We want the Operations Manager | Assistant to the President to be part of our decision making team, have business savvy and weigh in on issues that affect the growth of the business.


Maintain an efficient office including devising and implementing process and process improvements. Research and implement new tech/software to increase productivity.

In charge of the office management process for managing workflow, including company calendar, meetings, reporting/accountability and documentation.

Manage Human Resources

Hire, train and create process for staff onboarding and reviews.

Maintain all staff records, including job descriptions

Manage benefits program

Create an employee handbook.

Financial responsibilities include preparing and coordinating documents for accountant, president and sales team.

The Operations Manager will report directly to the president and be responsible for all administrative tasks that support business development and company management.

HR skills. Experience with staffing and recruiting. A proficient interviewer and are good at assessing people's aptitude for certain projects and roles


3-5+ years of relevant work experience

Prior working experience in a design office a big plus

Must be familiar with Apple based design tools

Microsoft office suite proficiency

Excel proficiency a must
