The Technology Training department is focused on supporting the continued mission of the library to advance knowledge and inspire lifelong learning. We do this through the delivery of tech education to New Yorkers in over 80 branches throughout the city.The New York Public Library seeks a Technology Training Program Coordinator to join our TechConnect Program. The Coordinator will provide vital support for LibraryA?s expanding program of technology classes helping to close the digital divide. S/he will serve as a liaison for TechConnect within the library and to community organizations. Under the direction of the Associate Director of Tech Education:Provides analytical support for the TechConnect program by maintaining and analyzing data on program metrics including survey data and compiling reports.Conducts research as needed on new innovative technology and educational program developments and helps to implement new program ideasServes as a liaison for the program within the library as well as to other institutions in the technological and educational communitiesSupports the TechConnect department by updating and maintaining the patron and staff websitesManages all TechConnect email correspondence including registrations and spreadsheets for series based programmingEvaluating registrations to ensure appropriate class enrollmentsCoordinating with team to ensure series based events are handled smoothlyTravels throughout Manhattan, Staten Island and the Bronx to conduct trainings, as neededAssists with ad:hoc projectsPerforms other related duties as requiredAccountability and Professionalism : Demonstrates enthusiasm for and commitment to the position and accepts responsibility for personal actions.Customer Service : Commits to meeting the expectations of internal and external customers. Listens and responds effectively to customer questions; resolves customer problems to the customerA?s satisfaction; respects all internal and external customers.Collaboration and Teamwork : Supports a positive team environment in which members participate, respect and cooperate with each other to receive desired results.Job:Specific Knowledge and Skills : Plans, prioritizes, and organizes work effectively to produce measurable results; keeps current with and effectively applies new work methods, skills and technologies to complete work.Prior experience teaching/instructing/training adults for related technology products and servicesBachelorA?s degree and a minimum of two years relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experienceExtremely proficient in Excel/SpreadsheetsDemonstrated proficiency in technology, including MS Office Suite, Google Apps, Mac and PC platforms, HTML and CSS Strong interpersonal, oral and written communications skillsStrong organization and event planning skills, including the ability to perform multiple projects or tasks simultaneouslyAbility to work in a fast pace environment and think fast on their feet.Strong aptitude for learning new and emerging technologies quickly as well as a commitment to staying current on emerging trends.Demonstrated ability to deal tactfully with patrons and staff of all levels.Successfully demonstrated experience working as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision.Experience providing support to management level staff Knowledge of New York metropolitan areaExperience teaching teens/children in some capacityKnowledge of at least any of the two areas:Javascript, RWD, jQuery, Python, Ruby, and/or Twitter Bootstrap Adobe Captivate or Articulate StorylineFinal Cut, GarageBand, Pro Tools or equivalentsAdobe Creative Suite 2D/3D animation CAD software AR/VROffice setting with frequent visits to other branches for event functions.Non Union
