*Job Summary*
Data analytics developer, designer, and innovator with a strong business orientation to create and support models, reports, dashboards and other business-driven analytical products and empower customers to produce data products in accordance with best practices and governance standards. Must be comfortable working closely with business stakeholders in order to understand business requirements and constraints and address needs in accordance with security requirements while providing excellent user experiences.
Represent the Group in bank-wide and system-wide committees and task forces as they are related to the work of the team.
*Principal Duties and Responsibilities*
Perform hands-on data analysis using a variety of tools and languages to process, model and visualize sizable volumes of data
Assist in defining and documenting best practices, usage standards and governance and offer guidance in same to business teams
Provide technical consulting, training and thought leadership to management and business users who are looking to leverage data and analytical tools and techniques
Develop and maintain business-driven data analytics products in support of Supervision group
Work closely with business stakeholders to design and build business solutions based on requirements gathered or provided
Provide resource estimates for given body of demand for development of applications
Research and evaluate alternative solutions and make recommendations consistent with stated requirements and priorities
Maintain and support of existing data products and applications
Identify and evaluate (including proof of concept) of new technologies and techniques for meeting business objectives
Develop solutions that address data security requirements
May contribute to Federal Reserve System (FRS) strategic efforts by participating in FRS work groups
Work directly with various customers to understand their business and help to define and articulate requirements
Adhere to and support FRBNY, System and Board guidance and policies
Ensure all applications are securely developed to FISMA/SAFR standards
*Job Requirements*
Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences at all levels within technical and business organizations.
Experience performing data-driven business analysis in a business, rather than IT, role
Significant hands-on experience using business intelligence tools (especially Tableau) and data analytics programming languages (especially R, Python)
Expertise in designing effective visualizations of analytics
Proficiency in SQL and relational database modeling fundamentals
Experience using data preparation and ETL tools in support of data analytics (especially SSIS, Alteryx)
Strong knowledge of data-related end-user desktop applications (e.g. Excel, MS Access)
Experience automating business processes using SharePoint workflow tools (especially Nintex) strongly preferred
Proven ability to learn and apply new software technologies
Experience with developing business and functional requirements and participating in the software development lifecycle
Familiarity with banking, financial concepts, financial data and market data
Minimum of 5 years of experience and a bachelor's degree required.
