Position Description:
American International Group, Inc. (AIG) has an opportunity for an Executive Assistant on its Legal team in New York. This position supports two busy senior Associate General Counsels who support the Company's Compensation and Benefits Departments, and the Head of Employee Relations. Duties include:

* Manage executive’s meeting and conference call schedule (including scheduling meetings and responding to meeting invites), provide executives with meeting materials in advance of meetings, and work with professionals to assure that they timely attend meetings;
* Operate as a strong “time manager” able to assist executives with staying on schedule and to adjust schedules in real time on an as-needed basis;
* Be very comfortable using Outlook and Word, have a strong ability to quickly learn AIG’s IT systems (Concur, Team Connect, etc) and be open to responding to questions from team on using those programs;
* Process complex legal and other vendor invoices, monitor outstanding invoices to confirm payment is ultimately made and respond to invoice questions from law firms and vendors;
* Answer incoming calls – take accurate messages, respond to and escalate urgent requests in a timely manner;
* Maintain files and organize documents, project folders, journals periodicals, etc.
* Assist with letters, distributions, photocopying and filing;
* Process expense reports;
* Make travel arrangements;
* Sort and distribute incoming mail;
* Order supplies as well as perform other general administrative duties;
* Back-up other assistants who are part of the employment law team when needed.

Position Requirements:
* 6-9 years of experience as an Executive/Administrative Assistant, preferably in a large, corporate environment;
* Must be highly motivated, a self-starter (and a self-finisher), able to keep track of time, and a natural “organizer”;
* Ability to manage and prioritize the workload, maintain a flexible attitude, and multi-task in time pressured situations are critical for this position;
* Needs to be detailed oriented;
* Proficient in MS Word, Outlook, and generally high comfort level with technology;
* The preferred candidate will have an interest in potentially moving into an Employee Benefits Paralegal position in a few years;
* Flexibility for occasional overtime a plus.
