Position Description:
-Analyze the profitability of the Casualty lines with a focus on Medical Malpractice
- Work closely with underwriting to develop pricing and underwriting strategies and identify pockets of profitable growth opportunities.
- Monitor loss trends and relevant industry/regulatory changes and effectively communicate these to management. Monitor rate, exposure, retention, new, lost business changes.
- Assist in providing business solutions to maximize risk adjusted profit. Develop actuarial reports to help the business effectively manage existing portfolios.
- Work closely with reserving actuaries to understand reserve development and inform them of pricing and underwriting actions that will impact reserve estimates.
- Research, develops and review advanced pricing techniques including generalized linear models.
- Develop granular profitability improvement strategies.
- Work closely with the modeling team to develop tools which optimize price and risk selection.

Position Requirements:
- BS in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related area.
- 2 or more exams
- 2 years or more years of experience in P&C insurance required with some experience in pricing preferred
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Work well both independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Excel, Access, VBA, SAS, or other programming languages preferred.
- Experience with advanced pricing techniques such as GLMs would be an advantage
- Strong business acumen and collaboration skills. Responsive to service needs and operational demands
- Effective time management skill
