BlackHouse is seeking a Business Development Manager to join the BlackHouse team in midtown Manhattan to aid in the development of new B2B relationships and account manage the details within the sales process. We’re looking for an out-going, high energy, development manager with expertise in experiential marketing and sales, who can continue building client relationships and generate new business in our space. A highly motivated person with an understanding of how to identify and pursue new revenue streams and opportunities.You will handle a wide range of projects, work both independently and collaboratively, and be able to make decisions and offer guidance to clients. You will lead communication of all details, decision-making and progress between clients and agency. We’re a small, fun team and looking to deepen relationships with existing clients, generate new revenue locally and nationally.

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for an on target goal to be completed by the end of the first 3 months of employment. To accomplish such goals, this candidate will be responsible for both utilizing existing relationships and hunting for new business, with an emphasis on hunting via seeking out new leads and opportunities through cold calling, email outreach, tradeshows and networking events.
Develop outreach and business development related copy for external emails, initial and follow-up conversations with prospective clients
Outbound lead generation
Inbound lead qualification
Participate in development of sales strategies,responsible for tracking all sales systems and processes
Educate clients on our value proposition, executions and best practices with creative strategy
Creating/revising budgets, proposals, and pitch decks
Pitching and presenting creative concepts and budgets
Manage your own portfolio of candidates and clients, both existing and new
Manage strategy and plans for accounts, lead brainstorm sessions and ideation, and understand and track clients’ business objectives and priorities.
Ability to negotiate with vendors and strategic partners
Maintain a strong understanding of client information including general business strategy, industry issues, products and services offered, key customers and competitors in the marketplace
Work with production partners to execute all client plans and serve as a liaison between production and client to communicate work-back schedule and updates.
Research, writing and editing market trends
Have ability to balance workload, be flexible to address needs of client, communicate efficiently to agency leadership, as well as with teammates.
Additional responsibilities include:
Reviewing invoices for accuracy
Develop creative solutions to obstacles and budget constraints with client goals in mind.
Displaying and encouraging high-level attention to detail on all communication, documents, and tasks.
Delivering premium experience and high-level client management on all projects, regardless of size or budget.
Maintaining vital and comprehensive database of information and documents containing specific details


A successful Business Development Manager will have…..
A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college, interest or experience in a fast-paced, sales oriented environment

2-3 years of experience in an Agency, Events, Business Development,Marketing, Sales, Hospitality and/or experiential marketing
Experience with the Google suite (Gmail, Google Drive/Docs)
Must have a proven track record of exceeding sales objectives
Excellent time management skills, take initiative in identifying and proposing new ways to advance team, agency and client, and take initiative in recommending solutions to problems and assisting teammates with problem solving.
Experience with building client relationships, prospecting, negotiation, and closing skills
A team player, with strong organization and communication skills
A fast learner, able to think creatively and act decisively
A self-starter, enthusiastic and energetic, able to execute in a fast-moving, dynamic environment
Experience in a start-up environment a plus
Experience with cold calling a plus
A proven track record of negotiating, “pitching” and closing deals
Positive, upbeat attitude and enjoys interacting with clients and team members in a fun and friendly environment
Ideally, someone with strong, pre-existing brand relationships with Fortune 500 companies and established network in NYC

Proficient in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Keynote, email and calendaring programs and a quick learner of new applications, Adobe InDesign are a plus
