Job description:

Marketing/Proposal Coordinator

Employer:Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates
Job location:New York, NY, US
Published:Thu, Dec 28 '17

You don’t get the second chance to make a first impression. It’s a cliché, but it’s true, which is why we approach each proposal as a critical opportunity to provide a custom, compelling story about who we are and what we do.
We are seeking for someone who can tell a great story but also has the capability to organize a complicated process, managing the efforts of a lot of people. It’s a left brain/right brain thing. We need both.
This person will produce our RFQ/RFP responses, as well as the various elements that go into them, such as resumes and project descriptions, keeping them fresh and interesting.
You’ll need to be able to switch gears quickly, from leading meetings to writing text to calling consultants to managing production, being pro-active and taking ownership of the process all over.
You should be obsessed with detail, knowing that our proposals need to reflect, down to even their kerning, the quality of our service, our work and our buildings.
You should always be thinking about the best story to tell, what makes us a great fit for a particular assignment, what is unique in what we offer.
And your job will be that much easier if you understand and like the content -- in other words, if you have an appreciation for planning, architecture and how the built environment affects our everyday lives.
Ideally you are skilled in InDesign, with a keen graphic design sense to complement your writing capability.
Previous practice working in the marketing department at an architecture firm is preferred. Such practice will have taught you that this is a challenging but fulfilling position. Information technology is one deadline after another, but also one accomplishment after another. If you are a "producer" you are well-suited to take ownership of this function.

Please send a cover letter, resume, work samples (previous proposals, essays, etc.) and income requirements to David Niles at E-Mail: dniles@kpf.com.

Thank you.
