Verizon Fios is looking for a smart, strategic and innovative thinker to help us develop the future of video advertising. The Product Manager’s role for Verizon’s Advertising team is pivotal in the planning, development, delivery, and life-cycle management of video advertising products & features across Fios’ multiple ad delivery platforms. The Fios ad delivery platforms include addressable and linear TV, mobile, VOD DAI, OTT, multiscreen products and any innovations you help to create. This position is on the FiOS Advertising Product team, in Verizon’s Global Media Organization.
The candidate will work independently as part of a team of highly motivated and skilled Product Managers. The position requires an individual with a strong drive to succeed and who is capable of working on the development of new products as well as supporting the current products and revenue streams. The ideal candidate must understand the commercial side of our business while also having experience working with and directing technical teams.
The Product Manager will be responsible for working and driving cross-functional teams across multiple stakeholders as well as to help to define and create the future of Fios advertising. Responsibilities include:
Develop business cases to obtain funding to support the development of platform enhancements and new Advertising solutions: Obtain support and commitment from management and cross-functional teams to develop new revenue streams.
Develop product and platform capabilities, feature development roadmap, and service requirements: Identify priorities. Document and clearly communicate requirements, workflows, and high-level integration among platform components.
Identify market trends, perform competitive analysis, and assess impact/opportunities for video advertising platform: Stay ahead of the curve.
Define and track key performance indicators of products on a regular basis: Understand/Define what constitutes the best product and continuously look for areas of improvement
Monitor performance results of advertising service contracts and serve as key communication contact with ad sales agents and external software/platform vendors on product, service and contract issues: Manage vendors and partners to assure maximum support
Provide & present status of project initiatives to mid and upper-level management on a regular basis: Communicate, identify areas of risk, and engage support when necessary.
What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or six or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant work experience.
Experience in product management/development in TV/online/mobile video.
Experience with advertising products and technologies for traditional and digital ad insertion platforms.
Even better if you have:
Bachelor's degree in business or technology.
Previous experience working with ad decisioning processes, campaign management, ad verification systems, big data, reporting and analytics with focus on traditional media and/or Digital. Experience working with programmatic platforms is also desired.
Experience working with privacy and legal teams within a large organization
Experience developing business cases and budgeting process.
Strong analytical skills & experience. Ability to assess market impact/opportunities, identify gaps & opportunities for product enhancements, and develop business & product strategies for short-term and long-term planning.
Comfortable analyzing and managing large amounts of data and be able to draw data-driven conclusions and recommendations.
Strong technical skills and experience. Ability to work closely with technical teams and vendors to understand product development issues and address technical platform issues & solutions.
Experience managing software and equipment vendors, negotiating service level agreements, and driving vendors toward successful, on-time delivery of commitments.
Ability to lead large project teams in a matrix organization. Strong team orientation with track record of working collaboratively cross-functional teams, external business partners, and software vendors in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. Strong Excel skills
Ability to travel domestically for business (less than 20%)
